  • Safe hydrogen from water

  • Clean the air you breathe - drastically reduce exhaust emissions

  • Boost your engine's power, even on big rigs

  • Save on maintenance costs

  • IMPROVE FUEL ECONOMY - for energy independence!!!

  • Great for cars, trucks, boats, generators, heating

  • 100-yea

r-old technology tested and proven by NASA and many others.

This is just one of many of these sites now on the web it would seem that some are just taking advantage of a new technology and are probably scams. However some are ligament. Do the research. This would allow you to have a larger car, even an dreaded SUV and reduce emissions, and nerly doubble your millage.

More good news on energy soon!

We must call our Senators and tell them not to pass the energy bill! it is the greatest taxation to America we have had yet! It will cost you the Home ome owner more than any other tax you have ever paid. it will cost you the car owner the same way. You are being told one thing and it is a bold face lie. Read the Bill and all it's amendments. Most of the people voting on it are being told not to read it just vote yes. That alone should be a warning sign!!!

More Cool Car Concepts

Hey Guys And Gals, We Are starting out with some concept vehicles from Device.com

Concept car with rotating tires reminds us how terrible we are at parallel parking!

The NASA concept car (which, as far as we can tell, has nothing to do with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, though it looks like astronauts are driving it) has some pretty radical features that are immediately appealing. It has a sleek hood rather than doors — keeping the passengers more stable and safe — and dynamic wheels they'll let you pull off hairpin turns, allow the car to move perpendicularly in a snap, and even spin in place.

MAG magnetic car concept is a MAGnificent car of the future

Let’s just leapfrog all those other ideas for energy-saving car tech and hop into this magnetically-driven ride, shall we? While Slovak designer Matúš Procháczka’s concept is prettier than sexy four-inch spike heels, it’ll definitely take some major infrastructure modification to make it a reality. It requires all roads to have embedded magnetic panels, quite a job for the millions of miles of highways and byways all over the world today.

The British Steam Car Challenge

Countdown to World of Speed, Bonneville, USA(15 – 21 September 2008)

The British Steam Car Challenge was officially launched in June of 1999 at the Beaulieu Motor Museum with numerous distinguished guests in attendance including many of the current team members and founding sponsors.
The project patron is Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, and the car is eventually to be retired on loan to the Motor Museum Trust at Beaulieu. It is hoped that the car will continue to benefit public awareness of ecologically friendly technologies and the efforts put forth by the team and its sponsors.
The project was initiated by Mr. Bill Rich and taken up by Dr. Neil Richardson and Dr. Richard Bowen of the University of Southampton. Additional information about the ongoing involvement of Dr. Richardson can be found later in this document.
This project couples the wealth of steam knowledge gained from Victorian times onward with some of the most advanced technologies known to man. It promises to be a stepping stone in the direction of the future of transportation technologies and will undoubtedly bring widespread visibility to “clean” technologies. Some Unusual Finds

Peugeot 888 future car is a concept done right: shape-shifting and green
The Peugeot 888 is billed as the "personal vehicle for the future Metropolis." For designer Oskar Johansen from Norway, that means a car with space for two with room for luggage, as well as a nifty shape-shifting body. On the highway, the Peugeot 888 stretches itself out flat so that it's stable and aerodynamic. In the city, however, it scrunches up for easier parking and taking up less of the road in general. Wind powered Greenbird ready to break land speed record

You normally don't hear the terms green friendly and land speed record in the same sentence, although that may change if a group of tree hugging speed freaks from Britain get their way. Currently, they are poised on a dry lake bed in Australia waiting for favorable wind conditions, so they can attempt to break the wind driven land speed record which stands at 116.7 MPH. That might sound kind of slow compared to the jet powered record, but is still pretty amazing for something with zero carbon emissions.

Renewable Energy Ideas

Renewable Energy includes many types of energy gathering such as wind, solar, thermal, water or hydro-electric, tide or wave generated electric, and others. We need to do more to see these usesd in every way posible in our energy makeup to lower our energy cost and independance on foriegn oil.
Where I live in Nonth Alabama we are on TVA and use a combination of Necluear and Hydro -Electric, but they just anounced a 20% rate hike starting next month for our area and related it to cost of coal increase. Now I know that coal is about 60% of americas power generation but not in my area.
I beleive I have enough sun and wind at my house if I could afford it to significantly reduce my utility bills, if i can find enound enough encentivefs in the area to help pay for their purchase and instalation.

Here Are A Few Excerpts From Renewable Energy Basics (PDF)
Renuable Energy (RE) systems retain their value and lower your power bill and as electricity costs increase, the payback time for an RE system decreases. On top of this, RE users are immediately contributing to a cleaner planet. These days, most grid connected residential and commercial RE installations around the country are based on environmental principles and values, not on an economic payback period. A REnstallation based purely on generates back to the electric company for credit to further reduce your electric bill. Depending upon the size of your system and your energy use, you may be able to offset some of your electricity bill. You still pay the monthly distribution service fee to the utility, any demand charges (for commercial buildings), and for any electric energy (kWh) which you used that was not offset by your own system. The utility electric system still provides electricity when you need it. Power outages may still occur with a grid-intertie system, and the rates the utility charges are still regulated.
• The second type of RE use is the Stand-alone, a system in which 100 percent of your electricity comes from a clean source completely separate of the utility. This approach is used where conventional power line extensions are too expensive or a residence or business wishes to be completely autonomous and independent of power fluctuations, outages and bills. Stand-alone systems cost more up front because a battery bank and controls are needed to store and regulate electricity when conditions are not favorable for RE power production (at night for solar electric, calm times for.... see the rest at http://www.northwesternenergy.com/documents/E+Programs/E+RenewableEnergy.pdf

Geothermal Energy
Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone National Park
The mission of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Geothermal Program is to work in partnership with U.S. industry to establish geothermal energy as an economically competitive contributor to the U.S. energy supply. Since 1974, the INL has been a key laboratory in executing the Department of Energy’s Geothermal Program, investigating and developing geothermal resource technologies for both direct use and electricity generation, particularly those resources considered marginally economical. Working closely with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and other national laboratories, the INL ensures availability of nationally recognized geothermal leadership to implement a successful national program.

Natural Gas Vehicles An Answer?

While the national average price of gasoline is now $3.60, some residents of Utah are happily filling up on compressed natural gas (CNG) at $0.63 per gallon. That’s the country’s lowest price for CNG, which has understandably caused a surge in demand for vehicles running on a fuel that one man described as “practically free.”

So far, CNG vehicles haven’t made a blip on my radar screen, even though the group Natural Gas Vehicles for America (NGVA) estimates there are 150,000 NGVs on U.S. roads today and over 5 million worldwide. It took a phone call from sunny Southern Utah to clue me in to recent developments, which include a local refueling station overflowing with CNG-hungry vehicles. For more on this article Go Here!

Clean Burning Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) are hot commodities in some parts of the country, where fuel can sell for as low as $0.63 per gallon.

Unlike the world’s most fuel efficient car (VW’s 285 MPG bullet), the Honda Civic GX looks like a standard passenger vehicle. What makes it special is what you don’t see: tailpipe emissions that are often cleaner than ambient air.

The Civic GX is powered by compressed natural gas—methane—the simplest and cleanest-burning hydrocarbon available. With an economical 113-hp, 1.8-Liter engine, the EPA has called the Civic the “world’s cleanest internal-combustion vehicle” with 90% cleaner emissions than the average gasoline-powered car on the road in 2004. For the rest of the story Go Here

How Natural-gas Vehicles Work

Kermit the Frog once said, "It's not that easy bein' green." Although he wasn't referring to cars, his observation seems particularly appropriate for the auto industry today: Designing, developing and marketing "green" cars has not been an easy task, which iswhhref="http://auto.howstuffworks.com/gasoline.htm">gasoline-powered vehicles still rule the road and fossil fuels still account for almost 75 percent of the world's energy consumption. As gasoline prices soar and concern over harmful emission mounts, however, cars that run on alternate fuel sources will become increasingly important. A natural-gas vehicle, or NGV, is the perfect example of such a car -- it's fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly and offers a relatively low cost of ownership. For more info Go Here

Natural Gas Conversion Kits

Ken wrote:"Please tell me where I may find info about natural gas conversion kits for automobiles. Who and where are they located? What is the approximate cost for a vehicle? Thank you ..."
Good question. Since most manufacturers offer choices only for fleets, and the Honda Civic GX is the only available production car in the United States, a conversion will give you more vehicle choices--and we are actually working on a series of articles on conversions that will help to answer your questions. In the meantime, we'll direct you to the websites of several companies that do CNG (compressed natural gas) conversions. And as you probably know, using CNG is an efficient fueling option that gives you the flexibility to fill up right in your own garage as well. As far as cost, it can range anywhere from one to several thousand dollars, depending on the vehicle you choose to convert.
This resource locator has links to different conversion companies across the U.S. and Canada. And here are some photos of Phill, the home refueling appliance, as well as the homepage for FuelMaker, the manufacturer of Phill. More at This Site

Natural gas car a natural for some motorists as gasoline prices soar

When Doug Montgomery found himself spending $400 a month on gas for his Jeep Wrangler about a year ago, he knew he had to do something.

He has an 82-mile roundtrip commute each day to his job at Chelsea Milling Co. from his home in Livonia.

"I said, 'I need to find something very economical.' "

After three months of investigating alternatives, Montgomery came up with something he hadn't expected - a car powered by natural gas. For Full Story Go Here

More About Energy Choices

I got an email from a energy organization about clean coal that had some good things to say. On the blog part of the site I thought this was good:
The Candidates on Coal
Energy is the theme on the campaign trail this week.
While McCain was stumping in the Midwest and touring a nuclear plant, Obama on Monday declared this week as “Energy Week,” and announced his energy plan. Both candidates’ have voiced their support for clean coal technology, and their respective energy plans include funding for more research and development.
Copied from http://behindtheplug.americaspower.org/2008/08/the-candidates.html
Clean coal has a great future, Clean coal technology: How it workshas a article on it.
When burned, coal is the dirtiest of all fossil fuels but a range of technologies are being used and developed to reduce the environmental impact of coal-fired power stations. Collectively, they are known as clean coal technology (CCT).
Copied from http://www.ideasforthecity.com/clean-coal-technologies/

Promote Energy Independence By Building More Clean Coal Power Plants
New technologies make it possible to use more coal to meet our energy needs. We should look for ways to build more clean coal power plants in Virginia. This would help us become more energy independent, but it would also help Virginia’s coal counties find more markets for their product.
Copied from:
http://www.100ideasva.com/?page=ideas&type=ENVIRONMENT&idea=44

Newer ideas behind the "clean coal" phrase are gasification -- a thermo-chemical, non-burning way to get energy from coal -- and carbon capture and storage/sequestration (CCS). Remember the great idea of sending nuclear waste into space? CCS is the carbon counterpart: Take our world-destroying gas and pump it into underground holes or deep ocean caverns.

Investing in Clean Coal Technologies:
How to "Capture" Profits in the Clean Coal Industry August 20th, 2008
Fact: Coal generates nearly 50% of the electricity consumed in the United States.
And despite the recent push to adopt clean energy sources, coal is likely going to remain king for the foreseeable future.
But the way in which we conventionally use coal is drastically changing.
You see, the fuel itself is being treated to burn cleaner. And numerous technologies are being developed that harness the noxious gases from the flue, known as carbon capture.

Historic clean coal summit delivers strong outcomes for NSW
A number of positive ideas to advance clean coal technologies have been generated at today’s NSW Clean Coal Summit held at Parliament House, Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources Ian Macdonald said today.
The summit, which featured Professor Ross Garnaut, was attended by around 150 delegates from the mining, investment, infrastructure and research industries, along with State and Federal Government Department representatives.
"The discussions between experts from industry and government were extremely constructive, and their work on this issue is not only vital for NSW but for the entire world," Mr Macdonald said.
