Hi all y'all, that's a southern colloquium in plural! Hope you are well at this reading. Just a quick note on how car company's are trying new things, in this case Mercedes Benz is trying new doors. See the video on this sight.
Troy Clarke president of GM North America said "Despite titles to the contrary, I can say with absoulute certainty the electric car is not dead at GM.-Gneral Motors Troy maid this claim in Washington, DC While already producing its share of gas-electric hybrids like the GMC Yucon Hybrid, the future line of "E-Flex" vehicles is the long term focus of the company.
The Chevy Volt is Gm's centerpiece of The "E-Flex" vehicles. The Volt will go 40 miles after a full charge before the gas engine switches in, which will re-charge the cars batteries continually up to 400 miles. At home the volt charges as a plug-in-the-wall car. It should be avalible in 2010, maybe sooner
Mitsubishi's innovative Electric Vehicle is the iMiEV, its design is centered on two ideas: a lithium-ion battery to power the car, and in-wheel motors to drive it. This would completely replace the regular drive train (motor, transmion, drive shaft, and differential) greatly reducing the weight, and allows
for greater design flexiblity. The iMiEV will be available in Japan in 2009.
More neat news soon.
